Applications of Machine Learning: Detecting Fake News

It is more and more likely to stumble on fake news. According to a poll conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs for Canada's Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), 90% of Canadians have fallen for fake news at least once in their life.

This is where machine learning comes to play. With a generative adversarial network (GAN) a machine generates false information that the AI systems must try to detect. If the discriminator thinks the content isn’t convincing enough, the generator creates more fake articles, and both learn the difference between credible information and doubtful one.
