The Origin of the Word "Digital"
The word digital originates from a latin word that signifies fingers or toes. Thanks to their ten fingers, humans were able to invent numbers and create a decimal mathematical system. Although computer science is based on a binary mathematical system instead of a decimal one, the use of the term digital remains in order to qualify the computational aspect of computer science.
